Peter Pan Jr. Audition

April 04, 20254 min read

Do you believe in fairies? Are you ready for an adventure in Neverland? Come audition for Peter Pan Jr.! and help bring this magical story to life!

Audition Dates: Tuesday, April 22, and Wednesday, April 23

Location: Boys and Girls Club of Cuero Theater Room

Time: 4:00-7:20 PM

Roles, Age Requirements, and Character Descriptions:

• Wendy Darling - Ages 14-18 (9th-12th grade)

The eldest Darling child, Wendy is a gifted storyteller with a maternal sensibility. She is mature and isn't afraid to show emotion. Wendy sings several solos that are fairly high, so a confident singer with a good range is ideal.

• Captain Hook - Ages 12-18 (7th-12th grade)

Captain Hook is a dangerous villain who seeks revenge on Peter Pan for the loss of his hand. He is pompous, gaudy, and without a conscience. This role is a chance to showcase a strong character actor with good comedic timing and a big personality. While the role includes several solos, a strong character actor can easily act through them.

• John Darling - Ages 10-13 (4th-6th grade)

John is the middle Darling child who acts quite mature for his age. He is a smart, analytic thinker who is a natural leader. The actor should be capable of this sophistication while still being a kid at heart. While some solos are required, most singing is done in groups.

Michael Darling - Ages 7-10 (2nd-4th grade)

Michael is the youngest Darling child, sensitive and playful. This role is an opportunity to showcase a younger actor who can keep up with the older kids in the cast. The role contains a few short solos, but mostly group singing.

• Mrs. Darling - Ages 12-18 (7th-12th grade)

Mrs. Darling is the mother of Wendy, John, and Michael. She is wise and maternal, the calming opposite to Mr. Darling's fussing. The performer should be capable of portraying a motherly command over her children and husband.

All other roles are open to ages 7-18, including:

• Nana

Nana is the Darling children's nursemaid and a dog. She cannot speak but takes very good care of Wendy, John, and Michael. This role requires physicality and can be played by a boy or a girl.

Mr. Darling

Mr. Darling is the Darling children's father. He is a moody, pompous man who actually has an extremely caring heart underneath it all; a versatile performer who isn't afraid of physical comedy, crazy voices, and being over-the-top.

• Tiger Lily

Tiger Lily is a striking Native American princess, tough and an excellent dancer. She commands the stage when present and moves gracefully. This role requires a performer who can portray strength and has strong dance skills.

• Smee

Smee is Captain Hook's right-hand man and the show's comic relief. This role is an opportunity to showcase a comedic performer alongside Captain Hook. Requires only group singing and can be played by a boy or a girl.

• Ensemble (Braves, Pirates, Lost Boys, and more!)

The ensemble includes various supporting roles such as the Braves, Pirates, and Lost Boys. These characters add depth and excitement to the story, participating in group numbers and scenes. A few speaking roles are available within the ensemble, and the production team will select suitable participants to fill those roles. So Be prepared to read from the sides available for each part and to sing the song selected for each role.
